Ben Newman has served on the frontlines of crisis for decades. For 25 years, Ben practiced law representing regional and national healthcare systems, public entities, Fortune 500 companies, and individuals in cases involving catastrophic injuries and alleged wrongful death. From the boardroom to the courtroom, Ben has honed his advocacy and persuasion skills in defending his clients in high stakes, high dollar litigation and he has provided a steady hand, visionary leadership, and counsel in representing their interests, often in the spotlight of traditional and digital media. During his legal career, Ben earned the distinguished AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, recognizing him for his strong legal ability and high ethical standards, a distinction earned by only the top10 percent of attorneys in the country.
As a crisis communications consultant and advisor, Ben incorporates his legal experience and litigation skills to develop an impactful and credible response to reputation and brand threats. He works with a client’s corporate risk management, executive team, general counsel and outside legal team to craft compelling and persuasive crisis responses directed to targeted audiences, both internal and external. As a former partner with one of the largest and most prominent law firms in the country, Ben has represented clients in moments of crisis and has effectively navigated them through the legal and public relations challenges that often go hand in hand.
Ben received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami.
